Together we will stand<br \/>\nAnd share the treasure. Everything is right.<\/p>\n<p>I trusted not your riches, but your word\u2014<br \/>\nThe only coin you placed inside my palm.<br \/>\nWe built a bridge where every promise stirred,<br \/>\nA wooden path so steady and so calm.<\/p>\n<p>Then silence fell like fog upon the stream.<br \/>\nNo warning, no goodbye, no falling rain\u2014<br \/>\nJust empty air where once there was a dream,<br \/>\nAnd I was left to knock and knock in vain.<\/p>\n<p>The river whispered nothing as it flowed.<br \/>\nI washed my face, I let the cool wind blow.<br \/>\nI did not curse the bridge that now was owed<br \/>\nTo ash and smoke and waters down below.<\/p>\n<p>The bridge has burned, I told the rising sun.<br \/>\nThe river flows, and I will flow along.<br \/>\nI mourned what we had lost, but when it was done,<br \/>\nI learned to live without your voice or song.<\/p>\n<p>Then from the blue, you called my name again\u2014<br \/>\nLet&#8217;s pick it up! Remember what we planned?<br \/>\nYou spoke as if no time had left a stain,<br \/>\nAs if you held an unburning in your hand.<\/p>\n<p>But fire does not answer to a wish.<br \/>\nA bridge of ash cannot be built anew<br \/>\nJust because you miss the old warm fish<br \/>\nThat swam beneath the planks you cut in two.<\/p>\n<p>I tried. I asked what happened in the dark.<br \/>\nYou shrugged. You promised gold and gems once more.<br \/>\nBut every question landed like a spark<br \/>\nOn ground too cold to kindle what we wore.<\/p>\n<p>So I moved on. No anger, just a sigh.<br \/>\nNo judgment tied a rope around my chest.<br \/>\nA bridge that burns is not a lie\u2014<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s just a choice that puts one soul to rest.<\/p>\n<p>So here&#8217;s the lesson, plain as river stone:<br \/>\nDo not burn bridges thinking they&#8217;ll unburn.<br \/>\nThe one you leave may build a world alone,<br \/>\nAnd when you come back\u2014find they will not return.<\/p>\n<p>The river flows.
