{"id":3977,"date":"2026-05-20T15:20:33","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T15:20:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alasca-black.com\/?p=3977"},"modified":"2026-05-20T15:20:33","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T15:20:33","slug":"the-devil-wears-lies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alasca-black.com\/de\/the-devil-wears-lies\/","title":{"rendered":"THE DEVIL WEARS LIES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Do we not see, or do we choose the night,<br \/>\nToo blind to grasp the freedom of our light?<br \/>\nMust we believe the kill-or-be-killed creed,<br \/>\nThat others wait to make our children bleed?<br \/>\nSo we militarize, a frantic race,<br \/>\nTold it\u2019s to guard a people, time, and place.<br \/>\nBut who are \u201cthe people\u201d when the storm is done?<br \/>\nThe wealthy soar; the many are undone.<\/p>\n<p>A father slays the neighbor for his bread,<br \/>\nYet scorns the neighbor\u2019s hand to strike in dread.<br \/>\nSo nations bully, cloak their greed in might,<br \/>\nAnd call their theft a holy, desperate fight.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s not for peace their solemn flags are unfurled,<br \/>\nBut for the veins of a reluctant world\u2014<br \/>\nThe minerals, the land, the right to reign,<br \/>\nTo turn a sovereign home to captured terrain.<\/p>\n<p>They speak of peace while loading another round,<br \/>\nA hollow prayer on consecrated ground.<br \/>\nFor peace, you see, would end their bread and butter,<br \/>\nDeny the chaos from which they mutter,<br \/>\n\u201cProtect us now!\u201d\u2014a self-fulfilling lie,<br \/>\nThat justifies the power gained by cry.<br \/>\nAnd the Devil, in his blood-soaked, tailored guise,<br \/>\nJust smiles, for it\u2019s the truth he most denies:<br \/>\nThat paradise could root where poppies grow,<br \/>\nBut war\u2019s a crop they\u2019ve learned to sow and hoe.<\/p>\n<p>A child tests limits; so the powerful test,<br \/>\nHow far they can transgress and still be blessed.<br \/>\nThey learn that envy wears a loyal face,<br \/>\nThat other states will bless the cruel grace.<br \/>\nSo we support the killer\u2019s rise to fame,<br \/>\nAnd call his bloody conquest by a name<br \/>\nThat sounds like order, strength, and ancient right,<br \/>\nWhile turning from the unconsenting night<br \/>\nOf homes demolished, stolen lives and land,<br \/>\nA people scattered like forgotten sand.<\/p>\n<p>And we, who sleep beneath a stolen sun,<br \/>\nWhose wealth is drawn from deeds we leave undone,<br \/>\nAsk not the cost. But will your conscience keep,<br \/>\nWhen those you\u2019ve displaced come to your own deep?<br \/>\nFor hell is not below, but here, made plain:<br \/>\nFather and son, a field of spilt disdain.<br \/>\nNeighbor with neighbor, locked in silent feud,<br \/>\nWhile belts are tightened on the multitude.<\/p>\n<p>The veterans, too, become a cast-off shroud,<br \/>\nA few given a cloth to speak aloud<br \/>\nThe very lies that sent them to the fire.<br \/>\nWhich truth, then, sets us free from this foul mire?<br \/>\nWhen so many who could have voiced the cost<br \/>\nHave been eliminated, silenced, lost.<\/p>\n<p>We live in light that others\u2019 shadows bought,<br \/>\nAnd only see the truth when hope is naught.<br \/>\nIs it a fantasy, a child\u2019s appeal,<br \/>\nTo think that war\u2019s eradication\u2019s real?<br \/>\nBut war brings profit, and the ledger\u2019s paid<br \/>\nBy those who work, oblivious, afraid.<br \/>\nSo the deception holds, a gilded cage,<br \/>\nUntil we turn from fear and turn the page,<br \/>\nAnd see the lie for what it\u2019s always been:<br \/>\nThe Devil\u2019s garment, worn by greedy men.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do we not see, or do we choose the night, Too blind to grasp the freedom of our light?
