{"id":3987,"date":"2026-05-20T15:27:29","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T15:27:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alasca-black.com\/?p=3987"},"modified":"2026-05-20T15:27:29","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T15:27:29","slug":"decimation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alasca-black.com\/de\/decimation\/","title":{"rendered":"Decimation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I never could have guessed or thought<br \/>\nThat I would have to walk that path,<br \/>\nA road with so much sorrow fraught,<br \/>\nPaved only with reality&#8217;s wrath.<\/p>\n<p>But she, she treads it with such grace,<br \/>\nA poise I couldn&#8217;t comprehend.<br \/>\nIt felt so safe to watch her pace,<br \/>\nA dancer who could not offend.<br \/>\nShe beat the eager birds, and shone\u2014<br \/>\nA Goddess, joyful and complete.<br \/>\nTo me, she was a work alone,<br \/>\nA flawless piece, from head to feet.<\/p>\n<p>Where could I start? I didn&#8217;t know<br \/>\nThat we were meant to grow apart.<br \/>\nN&#8217;oubliez jamais. The seeds you sow<br \/>\nWith careless words can break a heart.<br \/>\nIt was not what she would have chosen,<br \/>\nThis path of solitude and night.<br \/>\nBut what you needed to impose<br \/>\nHas left her emotional, drained of light.<\/p>\n<p>We speak in anguish, in despair,<br \/>\nAnd think we have no other choice.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s not that we don&#8217;t care, or dare,<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s that we&#8217;ve lost our mutual voice.<br \/>\nWe drift, and don&#8217;t perceive the cost,<br \/>\nForget the heritage we share\u2014<br \/>\nThat Ubuntu, never lost,<br \/>\nMeans thinking of the other&#8217;s care.<br \/>\nYes, self-care is a vital art,<br \/>\nBut you must see them too.<\/p>\n<p>The way back has vanished, torn apart.<br \/>\nWhile I was gone, emotional needs were growing.<br \/>\nI danced my own tune, self-adored,<br \/>\nFloated in my own air and glow,<br \/>\nOblivious to the pleas ignored,<br \/>\nAs she tried to keep in tow.<br \/>\nBut the ground I walked, the very rule,<br \/>\nWas mine alone; she couldn&#8217;t stand.<br \/>\nI saw my path, and played the fool\u2014<br \/>\nI didn&#8217;t see she needed land.<\/p>\n<p>And now there&#8217;s nothing left to say.<br \/>\nShe took her path and is on her way.<br \/>\nShe needed space, in solitude,<br \/>\nFrom one whose self-love was so crude.<br \/>\nShe doesn&#8217;t need my offered hand,<br \/>\nBut that I let it and understand.<br \/>\nMy fierce, emotional self-preservation\u2026<br \/>\nBecame her total Decimation.<\/p>\n<p>(\u201cN&#8217;oubliez jamais\u201d \u2013 as in Joe Cocker\u2019s song)<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I never could have guessed or thought That I would have to walk that path, A road with so much sorrow fraught, Paved only with reality&#8217;s wrath.
